Allow me to introduce the hardest-working tool in the garden: these gloves, called Gorgonz. Cool bonus: there's a magnet under that G in the wrist, to keep them together, or to keep them from sliding out of my wheel barrow. Wheel barrows are another very fine invention, by the way. Today, I used both, and various shovels, to start re-arranging various too-close-together plants. One ornamental grass was freed of the co-mingled ornamental sage (I think that's what it is); the sage went to the less crowded right-rear. Many hydrangea are too close. I thought the one that had been undermined by burrowing chipmunks would be easy to move. Ha! To compensate for the chewing on the 3:00-6:00 quadrant, the 6:00-12:00 side had tough, long roots. It seemed to have 3 or 4 main stumps, but I moved only 2. We'll see how it does. In its hole, I put the ligularia desemona which had been totally hidden by the white hydrangeas. Below: pansies.
