Piece o' Cake

I had a crazy cake picture from Mitch that Phiance and I took to the Westhampton Bakery today. "Oh, sorry we don't do fondant," the lady said, and showed us a book full of white cakes. "Also, I could do square layers, but not on angle like that." (What the heck? You can't turn one layer at a 45 degree angle to the other? Is it against your religion? Your Baker's Code of Ethics?)

Okay, thanks.

On to the Mixing Bowl. "Could you do something like this -- lots of geometric decorations and chocolate, in fondant, for our wedding?" Sure, why not, the young woman with a stud above her lip said.

Sheesh, *I* can do fondant. It's not that bloody difficult.

I'm not at all surprised that the Mixing Bowl can and will do it. Besides, it's more Old Richmond than Westhampton, no matter how much the Westhampton folk try to pass it off.
