Peonies!

The peonies bloomed this week! And the mock orange has been blooming for a little longer than that.

On Friday, I put down bulb fertilizer; still need to apply Holly Tone (right?). Also on Friday, I spotted the first rabbit we've ever seen in our yard. I know most folks in Bellevue have trouble with them, and many vegetable gardens have chicken wire or other fencing.

The garden walk committee met today at a home with a lovely shade garden -- since their columbine was blooming, and since a cold, gray morning had given way to a sunny, warm afternoon, I dashed home to check ours. I can't even find them! Did I read that they die out after a few years? Or is it because I ought to have wacked back those hydrangeas this winter and it's just too dark?

Planted two sweet 100 cherry tomatoes (purchased at Lakeside Market) today; some herbs from seed "bon bons" that Mom gave me. Snow peas are 10-12 inches tall, but not blooming, yet. Purple salvia blooming; move it to a more visible spot?

Speaking of moving: the hydrangeas and other things I moved in the fall have all leafed out. Yay.
