Finished pulling ivy out from under front azaleas today! It took three (or four?) rounds, and I know I haven't got every scrap of it. Phil notes we will need something there as a ground cover to keep down weeds. Maybe partridge berry? It will lay flat, not get all up in the shrubs.
Beans and cucumbers sprouted after 7 - 10 days. Planted second batch of each about 2 weeks later. Gina gave us 3 tomatoes which are situated in pots; 3 from Laura in box along with a "beefmaster" from box store.
Peonies (above) line the yard (some hidden by deutzia - latter too big?): gorgeous. Done blooming about now after 2 weeks.
